How do you make sure PageLayout is available for site?

Today I published a pagelayout and when I went to associate that with a page that was already published with a previous pagelayout the new one was not available so how do you get it to show up:

1. Go to site settings

2. Under look and feel click pagelayouts and site templates

3. Select the newly added pagelayout and make it available for the site

How to enable blog site in publishing portal?

1. Go to portal site settings

2. Under look and feel select page layouts and site templates

3. Under subsite templates select blog, by default only one that is available is publishing site with workflow

To enable look and feel and master pages:

1. Go to portal site settings

2. Under look and feel select master page

3. Select apply this to subsites
